"I must be the one to kill 'Arry Potta!"
Last year in London, I discovered that I have the talent of making a voice that's a mixture of the devil and the Christian Bale Batman and a dinosaur. And I try to use it whenever I can. So just picture that voice in your head when you read these lines:
-"I must be the one to kill 'Arry Potta!" (Voldemort)
-"I want to eat your babies" (me?)
-"At least I'm not the one wearing the hockey pads" (Batman)
Anyways, it made me think of that when I typed in the title. And I typed in the title because I just bought Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 on DVD. It came out today. I jumped on that.

{love and magic}
I also wanted to blog about this because it's further excuse/reason not to study for my exam tomorrow morning. Tomorrow's the official start of finals week, which means the past couple of days have been reading days which means I haven't done any studying. Except I took my last Spanish exam today for the rest of my life. I really enjoyed the class but it terrifies me to speak Spanish in front of people who are native speakers and so I'm glad to be done with that business.
Another thing that I did that I felt was more important than studying was trying out a new yogurt place with Annie on our errands run this afternoon. It's called Yogurtland and it's totes my new fav hun cal froyo place (sorry, YoZone. it's been real).
So, recap of my weekend:
1. Get a promotion at work. Check.
2. Play tennis for 2 hours so that I don't have to study. Check.
3. Buy Harry Potter. Check.
4. Buy a new book for summer reading to begin. Check (The Help)
5. Try new frozen yogurt place so that I don't have to study. Check.
6. Procrastinate studying. Check.
7. Bachelorette party for Annie. Check. (wink wink)
8. Freak out about finals. (not check)
9. Become a witch and attend Hogwarts so I can study wizardry instead. Working on that.

girl scout cookies
One day this week, I came home from class a little stressed and needing some sugar. Kelly and Ali walked in on cue and said: "they're selling girl scout cookies on the corner over there". Annie and I looked at each other and I asked her if she needed to shower first since she had just gotten back from working out. she said uh, no, let's go get some cookies. and so we started to walk over there (annie would say that I kind of ran a little bit) and I bought thin mints for the first time since being out at college. I asked the little girl who was selling them what her name was and then that's all she said to me. I had to ask if they were selling the cookies and how much it was. I remember the good old days when I, too, was a young girl scout (which lasted for about 3 years, I think) and I got to sell cookies. I'm pretty sure that I had to use my young marketing skills and not just my adorable little face to get people to buy from me and not from their next door neighbor, who also was selling cookies. It may sound silly, but it was a competition with my troop and there were good prizes involved. This was serious business, my friends. I had to take it seriously. And it was good for me because I learned how to sell a product and be professional with my money. I wanted to tell the little girl to stand up and tell me what each of the types of cookies were and which ones were her favorite (even though I already had my sights on those thin mints) and then take the money, give me my change, and tell me to have a nice day. That's how we were taught and it worked. Kids these days. Now I just sound like a cranky old lady.
Lucky for both of us, I at least got my thin mints.
...I love how they haven't changed their box since I was a girl scout a million years ago.

press forward
friends of byu.
the end is in sight.
I had values training at work today (which means I tke a break from my normal tasks, do fun little activities that emphasize good values and then get cookies). They showed us this video and it's makes my day every time. Just do this in the mirror before you go out and take a final and life will turn out just fine.

then ask yourself if you have done any good in the world today
things that make me happy recently:
1. cute date ideas
2. pranks all in the name of fun that make my week full of tests and papers more enjoyable
3. going out with my friends from Oregon (Annie, Seth, Hayley, and Lindsay)
4. new movies (Source Code was pretty good, but a bit different)
5. my family (as always)
6. trying out new recipes and they being successful and being able to share them with others
7. getting good grades on final exams (B on my scary Spanish final! ole!)
8. when the weather is 60 degrees on one day and 70 on the next day (not 65 to 70 to snow. blah)
9. General Conference weekend
That last one, General Conference, is a worldwide conference held in Salt Lake City, UT by the leaders of the LDS Church. The leaders of the Church come from around the world to give talks about issues and topics pertaining to us today. It's meant to uplift, inspire, and teach. It also means that we do believe in a prophet today who is called of God to direct His Church.
If you want to hear more, and if you haven't noticed, I have added a button on my blog that you can click and see my profile as well as check out what I'm/we're all about.
My mom texted me during Conference yesterday: "Mormons rock!" and I totally agree!! :)
A highlight of my weekend was this: "No one can give a crust to the Lord without receiving a loaf in return"
Hope the beginning of April has been as fun and inspiring as mine has!
